MISSION & VISION
The Forensic Evidence Table is changing lawyers' relationship with science and technology, and making the complicated straightforward, understandable, and accessible.
Our criminal legal system is currently inundated with scientific and technical evidence. There was a time, in the not-so-distant past, when a defender could have expected to avoid encountering scientific or digital evidence for a significant chunk of their early career. DNA was confined to homicides and rapes. Cell-site location evidence was only brought to bear on the most serious of cases. Social media did not even exist.
We aren’t living in that world anymore. From the first day of practice, defenders are exposed to science, data, and technology in ways that challenge them. Every case in today’s system is a forensic case, and every defender for every client must be positioned to respond to this evidence and this reality.
Our mission is to bridge the gap in access to tools, knowledge, and resources, ultimately ensuring fair and just representation for all.
