THE FORENSIC EVIDENCE TABLE

The Forensic Evidence Table seeks to change the criminal legal system's relationship with science and technology, and make the complicated straightforward, understandable, and accessible.

We do this work in response to a new reality: every criminal case is now a forensic case. Scientific and digital evidence no longer reside at the margins — they are central to how cases are prosecuted, defended, and judged. To face this reality, we must set a new table — one where interdisciplinary expertise is shared, community is valued, and the tools of power are demystified and redirected toward justice.

 

Our Mission. Our mission is to bridge the gap in access to tools, knowledge, and resources, so that lawyers–and the communities they serve–are equipped to meet the challenges of modern evidence.

 

Our Vision. We envision a world where science and technology are harnessed for a just future, not weaponized for oppression and control.

 

Our Work. We focus on two critical areas reshaping the criminal legal landscape: forensic DNA analysis and artificial intelligence. We bring together experts in criminal law, evidence law, science, technology, statistics, policy, ethics, and more to join our table and share in the feast of ideas, find common ground, build a shared vision, and work together towards a liberatory future.
